“Shopping is my cardio” quoted by the always fabulous Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. I really enjoyed that show, it was fun, witty, entertaining, and of course….fashionably inspiring!
Today is Sunday, the day when I count my blessings, reflect on the previous week and lay out what needs to get done the coming week. This past week was a bit challenging, but being the optimist that I am, I focused on the blessings, reached out to my mom for advice and encouragement, established a plan for the future and triumphed!
Today’s outfit was simple: a light long sleeved graphic hoodie, my favourite skinny jeans, Gucci flats, and a few simple accessories.
Sunday shopping usually calls for basics but today I decided to go graphic with this hooded, light weight, long-sleeved top purchased from Ashley Stewart. I first noticed this top last spring when another blogger shared it. At the time it was on clearance for only $30 and when I saw it, I knew I had to have it.
For the pants I chose my favourite Torrid, dark wash skinny jeans. Torrid has amazing jeans! They have short, tall, and extra tall in every style of jean you can think of. I really like these jeans because they are lightweight, long, fit right at the belly button and lift my best “ass”et 😛
I kept my accessories simple, gold hoop earrings, a plain gold chain and my favourite Michael Kors watch.
I really like Michael Kors watches, they are chic and contemporary. My favourite is the boyfriend watch. For a while I had been searching for a nice gold tone designer watch that was comfortable, not too heavy, and had the right amount of bling. When I found this watch I knew it was the one.
“Life is short, buy the shoes!” That’s what I thought when I first saw these shoes at Gucci. When I lived and worked in Vancouver I spent countless days visiting the mall during my lunch break and would sometimes make a quick stop at Gucci to check out the latest handbags. On one of those occasions I came across these adorable black patent leather ballet flats and couldn’t resist trying them on. Once they were on my feet I knew they were mine! Who can resist such cute shoes? I mean, so what if they cost like 2 days pay, I deserve them dammit!
Without hesitation I smiled at the eager salesman who was smiling back at me and said “I’ll take em!” After one quick swipe of my credit card I walked out of that Gucci store so fast, proudly clutching that gold coloured Gucci shopping bag, trying to get away before I realized what a big mistake I had made. They may have been purchased on impulse but were never regretted 🙂
As for the handbag, I went with the Louis Vuitton Speedy 30. I’ve had this handbag for 4 years now and only bring it out a few times a year. It is lightweight, durable, hold’s a lot of stuff and displays the familiar Louis Vuitton Monogram logo. If your thinking about investing in a Louis Vuitton then this one is a good option because it is one of the less expensive LV’s.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post, I had more time to write today so I was able to invest more content. Let me know what you think in the comments.
Have a good week!
